Let me start off by saying I strongly dislike both teams. No bias at all here. Don't believe me....ask any Saint or Packer fan on these boards. In any case, the game is less then a week away. We are all pumped for some football. Here is how I figure the game will play out.

I figure the Packers will come in with an obvious game plan......run the football!! The Saints weak rush D has been well documented. Lynch of the Seahawks had a monster game vs the Saints to end their season in wildcard opener. An opener in which everyone picked the Saints including me. Everyone was shocked especially with critics claiming Seahawks shouldn't be in the playoffs with a losing record.

If the Saints don't stop the ground game the Packers will win the game. I'm not saying they are gonna run all game long, but running game is key in the 4th quarter. Time of possession is one of the key attributes in winning football games. If Pack has the lead in the 4th they will run that clock down. I figure that Ryan Grant will have a good game unless Saints rush D proves me wrong.

Saints key to victory, get stops and don't let the Packers have success on the ground. On offense, if you can run the football. Drew Brees obviously is the key for the Saints to win football games, but if they can control the clock then I don't see why they don't win the football game. I don't doubt Brees throwing the football. I doubt the running game and rush D which is why I feel the Packers will win to open the season.

It will be a close game though. I don't see a shootout between Rodgers and Brees happening. I say Packers win the game w/ less than 25 points on the board and w/ the Saints less than 20. It will come down to defense. Since that is the case in my opinion, Packers D will get it done. I'll be rooting for an upset victory, but I doubt it will happen.

The endless frustration continues even after posting stats for the geeks. It is unbelievable to me that even with stats they refuse to give Ben any credit. I posted stats to support my argument in my post called "Who had the better Super Bowl run?" The critics didn't show, but they did vote clearly. 40 something-60 something pct between Ben's first Super Bowl run and Peyton's. I can't believe the idiots despite the great stats Ben put up compared to Peyton's still voted for Peyton. Even Irregardless makes idiotic comments saying Dilfer didn't have a defense or running game. Are you kidding me? How far are you gonna go with this? I know your hatred for Ben blinds you, but come on now.

Ben has a great defense and a great running game which is what I hear. He is discredited time and time again which I can't understand. How the hell can you tell me Dilfer didn't have a great defense? How can you tell me Brady didn't? Brady threw 1 TD in his first Super Bowl run. Not once did his team win by 7 points!!! Peyton won 2 games on his first Super Bowl run with defense giving up less than 10 points. He finally led the Colts to beat the Pats, but had a touchdown in a 30 point plus game. Do you people watch the games? How does Rodgers not get discredited for having a great defense? During his Super Bowl run last season he only won one game by more than a TD.3 of those games came down to the final minutes where the defense bailed him out. Yes....I said bailed him out! Something you critics claim Steelers defense does with Ben apparently. He gets no credit for either Super Bowl wins he had. He played great in his first Super Bowl run except in the Super Bowl, but he did have a TD in the game. 43 he led the team to a game winning drive after the defense gave up 16 points in the 4th quarter? Before you come here and say James Harrison interception...I would like copy and paste some things:

Is that enough evidence for you to discredit both Rodgers and Brees? I mean Ben gets discredited for having a great defense. If he deserves no credit for either Super Bowl why should they? I mean the defense bailed them out in both games right? Defense had to stop the opposing offense late to get the victory. You can throw all the stats you want in my face all day long. I mean you are a blind homer/hater/critic/or just a flat out idiot not to discredit them for it. You discredit Ben because the great play of his defense that apparently led him to them Super Bowl wins. If that is the case you got to do the same with these two quarterbacks. It is either blind hatred for the man or you are all idiots who say otherwise.

I'll start out by saying I'm not here to make excuses nor am I here to bash Aaron Rodgers or the Green Bay Packers. I wanted to make that clear before I rant on the Super Bowl and what not. I'm gonna state my feelings going in, also the game itself my reaction, than of course my feelings about the Steelers and Packers going forward.

Sunday's Super Bowl game I had no doubt it would be a great game. Both teams are great....if they weren't they wouldn't be in this position. All the talk about Roethlisberger and partying on Tuesday. It got rather annoying.....for some reason it didn't feel that same vibe that I had in 2008 about this Super Bowl. It is and was very weird. I was contemplating the logo and what would look better beside of it. It looked better towards the Packers to me than the Steelers. I don't know why, but it did. When up and got me a Steelers shirt I think it was the night before the game? Anyways it was the stairway to 7 shirt. I had plans of wearing it Monday. I was confident the Steelers would win like most Steeler fans are. I heard a report before game I think it was on ESPN where Tomlin was cutting practice short and letting the players have fun. I thought than did we not want the championship? Ya know....ya can't take your opponent lightly which I think the Steelers ended up doing.

Day of the Super Bowl I couldn't get to sleep. Stayed up till 8 am and finally went to sleep for a few hours. Turned the preview show on Fox at 4 or 5 pm. Saw Jerry Jones and Aikman ect. talking about the Cowboys. I quickly changed the channel. Turned it back saw the interview Ben had wondering what it would be like to be on the other side watching another team winning after a loss. Well he got that feeling after the game. I was surprised by the slow start going down 21-3. I got very upset with the performance thus far. Than it started clicking throughout the game til mid 4th quarter. Steelers got the 2 point conversion down by 3. I expected defense to stop them and Steelers run the clock down for a TD. Didn't happen Packers scored a field goal. Thought at the time this is what Ben does best. He can get it done. Kickoff dumb play by Fox I believe it was for that shove after the play was over. In any case watched the Steelers do no huddle and it seemed like their was a lot of miscommunication. After the first couple passes Ben completed I thought Steelers could get it done. Than Wallace not knowing the play was really the downfall where I didn't want to believe it came down to a 4th down conversion. Incomplete of course.....quickly turned the game off. Couldn't watch the other team celebrate especially Rodgers.

Family member wanted to type an essay paper for her Monday class. I just went to sleep early. Was given 5 sections of Math to do which is the reason I wasn't on here yesterday or Sunday night. Did hear a lot of Steeler haters Monday. Decided to still wear the Stairway to 7 shirt even though Pit lost. Not gonna get into what they said simply because this is far longer than it should be. Get to aftermath:

Steelers had one helluva season. No one can disagree with that with all the crap that the team had to go through. Do I believe the Steelers will miss the playoffs next season? No! Do I believe Ben is elite? Yea just a rough game. I don't believe it was karma guys. He paid his dues to get where he was at. He was suspended for it. That was the karma my friend. I don't think the Steelers wanted it as much as the Packers did. As I said stopping practice a bit short to have fun and what not. Packers do deserve that Super Bowl. They earned it and no one can disagree with that. Packers D forced 3 turnovers. They played a great game and deserve to be called the Super Bowl champs. Even though I didn't watch the end of the game along with who the MVP was named. It was Aaron Rodgers of course. Get texts from ESPN for NFL news. He played a pretty good game. I personally would have given it to the defensive player who scored the TD. Forget his name....sorry guys as I said I don't follow the Packers. I know very few defensive players on their football team. Woodson and Matthews are probably it for me. Not bashing Rodgers. The guy is elite and a great quarterback. Would I take him over Ben? No! Do I think the Steelers won their last Super Bowl under Ben Roethlisberger? Not a chance....I can see him winning two more at least before he hangs his helmet up. Do I believe the Packers will be in the Super Bowl again under Aaron Rodgers? Of course.....no doubt in my mind. Wouldn't surprise me in the future we see a Super Bowl rematch. This to is just the beginning of a Steelers/Packer rivalry. Ben Roethlisberger vs Aaron Rodgers rivalry as well. They are the next generation. To me they are right up there with Manning and Brady if not above them. I certainly believe Rodgers and Ben are above Brees. Just an opinion of course. Anyways I'm open to taking some bashing from you guys I suppose or even answer questions you might have for me. LOL! I hope Steelers get to avenge the loss in the Super Bowl at some point. Fact of the matter is the Packers are the 2010 Super Bowl 45 champs whether I like it or not. Congrats to Packers and their fans. Certainly deserve it for one helluva season. A battle between two NFL historic franchises. Both teams are quoted as "the best teams of all-time." The two teams are in difference conferences. The Pittsburgh Steelers vs the Green Bay Packers. What a matchup! Couldn't ask for a better one. Both teams deserve to be where they are at. They are headed to Dallas in front of probably the largest crowd to ever witness a Super Bowl. I got a text the other day saying it is expected 105,000 fans will be in the Stadium. In any case here is my preview for the Super Bowl 45.

Packers: Their keys to win this football game is pretty clear. Protect Aaron Rodgers, Defense stop the run, defense get in Roethlisbergers face all game long, and finally special teams don't give up good field position. Do all that they should win the football game.

Steelers: Same thing on special teams, get a running game going, protect Ben, defense get in Rodgers face, defense don't allow a running game. They do that and win time of possession they should win this football game.

I think that is critical for both teams is time of possession. It will be key in these evenly matched teams. I'm gonna pick the Steelers to win this football game and I fully expect a classic ending.

As a Steeler fan I will probably name more for the fact I know more about the franchise cuz I'm a Steelers fan. Both teams have faced a lot of adversity to get to where they are. For the Steelers it started in the off-season. Ben was suspended for 6 games than later reduced to 4 games. Leftwich expected to be the starter than got injured so Dixon got the nod. He got injured in the Titans football game. Batch took the reigns and by the time Ben returned the team had a record of 3-1. Of course offensive lineman Willie Colon was injured before the season along with other injuries. No one expected the Steelers to win the division, but the Steelers ended up doing just that. 1 loss to all division rivals. It is rather impressive record they ended with 12 wins. James Harrison controversy began during a Cleveland Browns game which he was fined for a lot of hits during the year. Fines were later reduced. Ben Roethlisberger and the passing game did just fine without Holmes. If you ask me the Steelers did just as good as they did last year. Mike Wallace had emerged in my opinion a top 5 wideout! Holmes was traded during the offseason and Steelers were given a 5th round pick in return. I was upset when I heard, but happy now. In any case the Steelers exceeded expectations. Proved all the doubters wrong. They defeated the Ravens and the Jets in the playoffs. Both teams were media picks before the season began. Successful season that is not done just yet.....The Super Bowl championship game is about a week or so away.

Packers also exceeded expectations with several of their starters being put on IR, Aaron Rodgers concussions, the list goes on. They were forced to win 3 or so amount of games to even get to the playoffs. On the road as a wildcard defeating great teams. The likes include Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, and the Atlanta Falcons. Their sites are now on the Super Bowl championship. Now facing their biggest challenge of them all as is Pittsburgh. Their is one team in their way of getting a Super Bowl championship. I can tell ya it will be one helluva game. I will make a Super Bowl preview after I post this. Sorry I had more to say about the Steelers than the Packers. Just that I don't really follow their football team. On Sundays I may check if they win or lose, but other than that I really don't follow the team.

I will start out by saying I hate the Packers. I'm rooting for the Eagles to win this football game. Kinda rooting for Vick as well. All that aside my preview for this weeks best matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles will indeed have home field advantage as a division winner and seeded number 3. Rested starters to end the season. Michael Vick has made this season for the Eagles with his MVP like play all season long. He has played great especially the first half of the season. Now with more teams blitz the last couple of weeks the team has struggled. Especially since their running game isn't playing all that well. For them to be successful vs the Packers is to establish a running game which Packers defense isn't one of the best at, but they are great against the pass. If they can have a great ground game their is a great chance they win this football game.

As for the Packers who I'm picking to win this football game. Their defense is one of the best in the league this year. All the excuses saying that Rodgers would be great if he had a great defense like other quarterbacks. It is his chance to prove it. Injuries aside it is time to put up or shut up. Is Aaron Rodgers an elite quarterback? If you go by numbers you can say yes. You go by winning football games and winning divisions something he has yet to lead his team to do you must say no. Anyways for them to win this football game obviously they will have to make Vick throw the football. Don't let the Eagles run the football and have success. Blitz Vick all game long. Offense won't be an issue in my opinion which is why I'm picking them to win this football game. If the Eagles defense can control the pass game of the Packers than they will most definately win the football game. If not they lose this football game. I don't see a shootout happening between Vick and Rodgers.

Special teams will be a factor in this football game as well. That is something to watch for. Packers have struggled in that part of the game. It will be an interesting football game and should be close. Again I'm picking the Packers to win, but rooting for the Eagles. I'm ready for some playoff football. Will the rest help or hurt the Eagles? Woodson stated today on Jim Rome that they started playing playoff football earlier which will give them an advantage. Somethings gotta give here.
