Ravens vs Steelers......Steelers vs Ravens.......how can I describe this? Intense, blood hungry, smashmouth, best rivalry in football game!! Two of the top 3 football teams in the NFL today!! They will battle in Pittsburgh on Heinz Field. I along with everyone are ready for this football game. We always are when we see that matchup coming. This will be an emotional football game for both teams. Both battling to be the absolute best. PERIOD!! That Manning/Brady rivalry doesn't thrill me as much as the football games I have saw between the Ravens and the Steelers. They've had some classics.
Going into the football game the Ravens blew out the Chiefs. I'm somewhat surprised by it and some way I'm not as well. I didn't see that me turnovers happening. The Ravens are ready to play. They looked like a whole different football team when they were at Arrowhead. I was rooting for the Chiefs and it was hard to watch. Chiefs were one of the best at not giving up the football. Obviously the reason is because they didn't face a football team like the Ravens. They looked like they were making a statement. A statement to all football teams and that is don't sleep on them. They are no pushover by any means. The game against Pittsburgh Saturday may be the best matchup yet. Both teams ended the season with identical records. Steelers won the division due to tiebreaker of division record.
Pittsburgh Steelers ended the season with a blowout win over the Cleveland Browns. At half time the game was over. Pittsburgh made a bit of a statement as well. They clinched the division and home field. Much needed bye week for Pittsburgh to get healthy. No word yet if Aaron Smith will be playing in the ball game. I figure Polamalu will be playing in the football game. In any case both teams last wins were statements. Both teams looked their best vs their opponents. It will for sure be the game of the week.
As a Steelers fan of course I'm picking Pittsburgh. I think they are better defensively and offensively. The keys to victory for Pittsburgh is as follows: Defense don't allow Ravens to have a ground game. If they do that than they will do ok as long as they don't give them free yards meaning penalties. I think the defense can handle Flacco. Ravens side: Be in Roethlisberger's face all game long. Figure their D can handle the rush game unfortunately. Offensively the Steelers would like to have an effective rushing game. Protect Roethlisberger and give him time to throw the football. Do that than I'm certain the Steelers will win the football game. Ravens offensively....running game wouldn't hurt vs the Steelers. If they get a running game and win the battle of time of possession that will give them their best chance to win the football game.
Again I'm picking the Steelers in this one. Should be a classic. Surprised??Don't be........STAY JEALOUS!!

Wildcard weekend was great. All the games were all except the KC/Baltimore game. In any case the Seahawks went in as a division winner which made them have home field advantage. It really was in that game. Seahawks played a great football game in one of the biggest upsets in playoff history. It was great indeed and I'm gonna be rooting for another upset this weekend when they head to Chicago to take on the Bears.

Kansas City Chiefs is the surprise team of the year. Of course it is an opinion. KC as we all know is led by the running game. Their duo of Thomas Jones and Charles. Both have had great seasons. Both have proved a lot especially Jones to the Jets. Some believed Jones was a product of the Jets offensive line. Obviously that is false. Jets are struggling without him this year.

I was thinking about not doing this cuz of course the critics. Decided to do it anyways. Here is my AFC playoff predictions in which I will give a breakdown of each game in which why or why not they will win or lose that ball game.
#5 Ravens vs #4 Chiefs-Chiefs ended their season with a loss to the Raiders. Their offense seemed like it couldn't get going vs the Ravens. Of course it can change on any given day. Not the momentum you want coming in vs the Ravens. I think Chiefs got a much tougher matchup than they wanted. Could have faced the New York Jets. Anyways I figure the Chiefs will be able to get the running game going, but mistakes by Matt Cassel will cost them in the end. Ed Reed will snag an INT in this ball game for sure. It will come down to their passing game in the end which again I don't think will win them the game. Figure the experience in the playoffs will be a factor in this ball game. Ravens are the favorite, but anything could happen. They will establish a running game and will make this a ball game. It will be closer than one would think. I say Ravens win 7-10 points.
#6 Jets vs #3 Colts-A team the Jets didn't want to see. Last year we all know what happened. I'm not gonna base my prediction on last year o. Jets have struggled thru their last half of the season. Going 9-2 and losing some games along the way to finally make the playoffs. I don't know if I would say the Jets are far more improved than they were last year. Record wise it shows, but their passing game still stinks, rushing game wasn't what it once was, yada yada yada. I don't think the Jets will rush that well vs the Colts even though they have a history of giving up huge yardage on the ground. Their rush defense has improved not giving up huge numbers to the Titans which is impressive. I think Manning will have a great day and have more than 3 passing TDs. Garcon will have an outstanding performance. Colts will win this ball game. Not big, but they will win by more than 10 points. Ends will be in Sanchez face all day, but I figure that their passing game will be the reason they stay competitive in the game.
AFC Divisional round:
#5 Ravens vs #1 Pats-Figure this will be a good game. It will go down to the very second. Unfortunately I figure the Pats will pull it out to go on to the AFC championship. Thanks to Joe Flacco passing game inconsistant. He will cost the team the game. Not really a lot of breakdown. Everyone knows what to expect. Ravens defense will keep it close. Rice will rush for over 100 yards. Flacco will have a chance to lead his team to victory, but loses in the end thanks to inconsistant play.
#3 Colts vs #2 Steelers-Figure Mendenhall will have a great day on the ground. Home field is always good to have. Figure Pittsburgh passing game won't be much of a factor cuz I figure Colts ends will be in Ben's face all day. It will be important for the offensive line to protect Ben, but I doubt they will which will lead to some short routes to convert on 3rd down. Mendenhall and "RedZone will have a big day. That will be the focus for the Steelers offense. Peyton will throw some INTs in this game and their running game won't be there. Figure it will happen. Big win for Pittsburgh!
#2 Steelers vs #1 Patriots-Patriots will be at home and have everyone picking them. Last time around it was a lot different than it will be this time around. Steelers have a new kicker, they may have Aaron Smith, have more than 5 healthy offensive lineman to play the game, Steelers will have far more determination, Steelers are under the radar this time around, no one is picking them which is an advantage for the steelers as well. The list goes on! Fact is this will be a helluva game. Last time Patriots came in with a huge loss to the Ravens which brought out more determination and more of a reason to want to win the ball game. Figure the Steelers didn't take the game seriously enough. Which it is a regular season game of course. Playoffs is where the Steelers play the best. Number 1 defense in the league along with the kicker only missing one field goal since being signed after the Pats game. Impressive if you ask me. Steelers offense looks great. The factor in this game will be to put pressure on Tom Brady. That offensive line holds just as much as Rex Ryan holds his wife's feet. LOL! Maybe this time around the refs will be looking somewhere other than Brady's backside. The way the refs have been calling against the Steelers it finds it more realistic to believe this will be the game that will cost them cuz of the refs. It will happen. I hope Harrison is in Brady's face all game. Can't if a guys yanking on his jersey. If Steelers have Aaron Smith back they may be able to get that pressure on Brady. In any case I believe the Steelers offense will be fine vs the Pats defense. Pittsburgh wins if Brady is pressured which I have confidence that Steelers can get it done this time around. Steelers will go on to the Super Bowl to represent the AFC. 1st to 6.......on a stairway to 7. Surprised??Don't be......STAY JEALOUS!!

Two games that will decide the division will come during the final week of the regular season. Both are at the same time so I'll be switching back and forth through commercials. One of the reasons I love division play is because of this final week.
1st game will be the Ravens vs the Bengals. Ravens in a must win situation if they do indeed want home field advantage and a division title. Last go around Bengals won. Ravens have got to even it up. Bengals have won their last couple of games. Last week without T.O. and Ocho Cinco. I bet Bengal fans would love to cost Ravens home field advantage and end the season on a bit of a winning streak. It will be interesting to see how this game will play out.
2nd game will be the main factor in this equation. The Steelers vs the Browns. Browns have had a pretty good season. To me they found their quarterback and his name isn't Delhomme it is McCoy. Colt McCoy! The memory of the last time these two teams played was James Harrison's vicious hits that started all the fine nonsense. Steelers won last go around. This time it is for much more. To clinch home field advantage which would be great for Polamalu and to give Aaron Smith more time to heal. The plan was when Smith got hurt was not to use him for the rest of the season and use him in the playoffs. Thanks to not putting him on IR. Figure Polamalu will be out this ball game despite wanting to play. I would rather him to be 100% for the playoffs. Figure Pittsburgh will beat them reguardless, but Cleveland shouldn't be overlooked at any means. This will be a great game to end the season. Exciting week expecting wins by both teams.

I did an NFC already. I wasn't gonna do this, but I decided to do it anyways despite the critics. Who will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl? Been pretty accurate these last few years. Well at least not my preseason predictions, but than again whose is?
I'll state why or why not I'm picking this team to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
Jacksonville Jaguars- Still have a shot to make the playoffs, but I'm not picking them to get in. With their starting quarterback David Garrard now on IR ending his season I highly doubt they will even win their last regular season game with Trent Edwards.
New York Jets- The media's pick coming into the season was the Jets. All the talking with the HBO show to the foot fetish. All the talking has come to an end. Now you got to prove it. New York Jets winning the Super Bowl talk all year. Now all the talking will be on the field. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Chiefs upset the Jets. I'm actually picking the Chiefs to upset the Jets. Jets offense isn't consistant enough in my opinion. Sanchez isn't great at all. Not even good. LOL! Running game is lost. Defense wouldn't be able to handle an offense like the Colts or Patriots. I doubt they will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Again prove me wrong.
Baltimore Ravens-To me the Baltimore Ravens are one of the most under-rated football teams in the league. Yes they were one of the media's so-called picked, but they don't get the respect they deserve. They are a great football team. Great defense! Offense will need to step up for them to get to the Super Bowl. I don't think their passing game is as good as one thought. Running game was thrown out of the window where Rice wasn't getting his carry's. I think their offense will cost their team a chance to be in the Super Bowl. It will come down to the passing game in the end. Ravens could definately surprise us though. They are in my opinion the 3rd best team in the league right now.
Indianapolis Colts-I like their chances of making the playoffs and winning their division. Despite the teams struggles on offense due to injuries I think they are still a bit of a force in the AFC. They would give the Pats a battle if they were to face again. Just an opinion of course. I think the injuries will haunt them and lead them out of the playoffs.
Kansas City Chiefs-Some people would call this team a darkhorse. This team surprised us all. New coaching staff really helped revive this franchise. Matt Cassel has done a great job at quarterback. The running game is the true leader of this football team o. Charles along with Thomas Jones have made a force in that department. That is one of the reasons why I like them to take down the Jets. They are pretty good on special teams as well. Not that bad in the passing game either. I like their chances. Wouldn't be surprised if they did lose in the wildcard round like everyone expect. Wouldn't be surprised if they won in the wildcard round either. Great season o.
Pittsburgh Steelers-One of the reasons I wasn't gonna create one of these for the AFC because I would be criticized cuz of my biased towards my favorite football team the Pittsburgh Steelers. I like their chances to be honest. To me they are one of the top 2 teams in the league right now. Best defense in the league always helps come playoff time. Great wideouts with one emerging Mike Wallace. Running game is pretty good. Mendenhall is in the top 10 in that category. I think the Steelers will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. They have all the key components to get it done.
New England Patriots-Media's pick, majority of everyones pick. Of course they have a strong passing game. Under-rated defense among other qualities. Have a great quarterback who more likely than not will be named the MVP this year. They have one of the most praised head coaches in the NFL on their side as well along with home field advantage. You gotta think with all those advantages you gotta pick this football team. Any team can win on any given day. That's why we play the game. That's why I'm not picking the Patriots.
This is my breakdown of all of the AFC teams. Why and why not I pick them. So on and so forth. Tell me what ya think. Steelers will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

This Sunday we will be witnessing a great rivalry football game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers. To me it is one of thee if not thee best rivalry in the game today. I personally love defensive ball games. Every time we see these duos go at it it ends in a classic way. The respect both team players and fan bases have for one another make this rivalry special. Personally I can't wait for the game come Sunday Night on NBC.
What to expect? I don't expect either team to have huge numbers on the ground. I believe as always the difference will be the quarterback play. Both defenses are solid obviously....have been for several years as many of you should know. Last time it came down to the last minute. This time i wouldn't doubt it comes down to a second.
Ravens won the last game with Boldin catching the TD with I believe 35 seconds left to play. I think the Steelers led the whole game til that point. Anyways that time 4th string quarterback Charlie Batch was playing for the steelers at quarterback. Threw an I N T to end the final drive for Pittsburgh in the game. Now the ball game surrounds a different story. Big Ben is back and playing some great football. Going into last game he has thrown the most passing yards since his return from the suspension. Leads the NFL in that category since than. In any case, Ben is wearing a boot after getting injured in the last game vs the Buffalo Bills. He says he is playing this Sunday. It will definately factor in the ball game cuz history shows Steelers havn't won a ball game vs the Ravens without Ben in. When Ben plays the Ravens he has led the team to all victories except for one when he is the quarterback.
Says a lot about this game as well is the division is really on the line here. This is a must win for the Steelers because they lost earlier in the season to them. They got to even this series up. Last year they had the same record as the Ravens, but the division record kept them out of the playoffs. Thus far Browns beat the Bengals, Bengals beat the Ravens, Steelers beat the Bengals and Browns, and finally the Ravens have beaten both Browns and Pittsburgh. If Pittsburgh wins they will have basically a 2 game lead over the Ravens cuz loss to the Bengals earlier in the season. If Ravens win they will have a 2 game lead as well cuz they beat Pittsburgh twice.
Both teams are now 8-3 going into Sundays game. This game is big for both teams. To me this is bigger than Monday Nights media love frenzy. This is just pure football at its best. Good luck to the Ravens, but the steelers are gonna win! Surprised??Don't be......STAY JEALOUS!!

I have been thinking about the wildcard spots. I already have predicted the division winners. Now the wildcard spots are even tougher. Some folks disagree with me. I just wanted to see what everyone elses wildcard predicitons this year. I give the two wildcard spots to........One to the AFC North team and an AFC East team.
AFC West is simply the weakest division in the AFC so it is obvious they are not gonna have a wildcard team.
AFC South is a pretty good division, but with Texans having the toughest schedule in the NFL I don't think they can get it done this year. As for the Titans I don't believe CJ will have another stellar season as he did last year. He is their offense. As for the Colts, I believe the Colts will take the division again this year.
AFC East has in some folks opinion three great playoff caliber teams. I don't see the Dolphins a lot better than last years football team. Marshall is gonna be a bust. Brown is gonna get injured.....again. I don't see it. The Pats will take the division again. At least I believe so. As for the Jets they will take the wildcard spot. Great defense with some problems with chemistry which is the reason I believe they will not take the division. Contract issues with Revis isn't helping the situation either. Let's see if they can get it done without the Colts laying down for them.
AFC North is the best division in the NFL. No question about it.
Bengals made some decent acquistions, but I don't see them getting lucky again this season. They won't be making the playoffs. I don't believe in all the hype. T.O. doesn't make a team that great. If he did than wouldn't a team signed him before the end of July. Antonio Bryant is terrible!! Why do you think they went out and got T.O. They do have weapons as do other teams. Carson Palmer and the passing game isn't the reason they were successful last year nor this year. It will be because of the running game and the defense of the Bengals.
Ravens will be taking the last wildcard spot. Actually they will take the 5th spot because I think they will finish better than the Jets. They have a great football team. I respect that football team as well. Added some weapons and defense is always solid. Ray Rice is gonna be the best running back in the league at the end of the year. That is my prediction if you go by numbers.
As for the Steelers of course they will be winning the division and win the superbowl once again. Surprised??Don't be.....STAY JEALOUS!!
