What teams NFL draft thus far has made you giggle

This particular thread is basically to bash teams who have made some dumb decisions on the draft day thus far. Well of course it is everyones opinion.

I'll give you an example: Falcons traded 2 1st and 4th round picks plus a 2nd rounder to get Julio Jones. Some may call it bold. I call it stupid basically trading their draft away for Julio Jones. I believe White posted on twitter they traded their draft away. Obviously White isn't very happy with the trade. Now the Brownies will be battling for the number 2 spot in the division with Baltimore behind Pittsburgh. Nice job....I'm sure the Saint fans along with Buc fans are laughing right now. I would say Carolina is laughing, but you know. At any case, they were the most over-rated team last year. I doubt the team makes it to the playoffs unless they get the 6th slot in the wildcard which I doubt. Saints not only in my opinion will be the division winner, but they should be the best team in the NFC after thee amazing draft they had. Some could argue they had the best draft. The argument is with the Browns. The reason Browns are in the discussion is because all the picks Falcons gave them. Congrats on being the laughing stock of day ones draft. I know I'm not making any friends with Falcon fans, but I speak my opinion. Saint fans probably dislike me just as much as you will after the read. Congrats on trading this years along with next years draft away. I was amazed as I feel Holmgren was when he heard the offer. Julio Jones isn't worth 5 picks. Especially 2 1st round picks! Surprised??SurprisedDon't be.........STAY JEALOUS!!Cool

ATKOOL: Packers vs Steelers aftermath

I'll start out by saying I'm not here to make excuses nor am I here to bash Aaron Rodgers or the Green Bay Packers. I wanted to make that clear before I rant on the Super Bowl and what not. I'm gonna state my feelings going in, also the game itself my reaction, than of course my feelings about the Steelers and Packers going forward.

Sunday's Super Bowl game I had no doubt it would be a great game. Both teams are great....if they weren't they wouldn't be in this position. All the talk about Roethlisberger and partying on Tuesday. It got rather annoying.....for some reason it didn't feel that same vibe that I had in 2008 about this Super Bowl. It is and was very weird. I was contemplating the logo and what would look better beside of it. It looked better towards the Packers to me than the Steelers. I don't know why, but it did. When up and got me a Steelers shirt I think it was the night before the game? Anyways it was the stairway to 7 shirt. I had plans of wearing it Monday. I was confident the Steelers would win like most Steeler fans are. I heard a report before game I think it was on ESPN where Tomlin was cutting practice short and letting the players have fun. I thought than did we not want the championship? Ya know....ya can't take your opponent lightly which I think the Steelers ended up doing.

Day of the Super Bowl I couldn't get to sleep. Stayed up till 8 am and finally went to sleep for a few hours. Turned the preview show on Fox at 4 or 5 pm. Saw Jerry Jones and Aikman ect. talking about the Cowboys. I quickly changed the channel. Turned it back saw the interview Ben had wondering what it would be like to be on the other side watching another team winning after a loss. Well he got that feeling after the game. I was surprised by the slow start going down 21-3. I got very upset with the performance thus far. Than it started clicking throughout the game til mid 4th quarter. Steelers got the 2 point conversion down by 3. I expected defense to stop them and Steelers run the clock down for a TD. Didn't happen Packers scored a field goal. Thought at the time this is what Ben does best. He can get it done. Kickoff dumb play by Fox I believe it was for that shove after the play was over. In any case watched the Steelers do no huddle and it seemed like their was a lot of miscommunication. After the first couple passes Ben completed I thought Steelers could get it done. Than Wallace not knowing the play was really the downfall where I didn't want to believe it came down to a 4th down conversion. Incomplete of course.....quickly turned the game off. Couldn't watch the other team celebrate especially Rodgers.

Family member wanted to type an essay paper for her Monday class. I just went to sleep early. Was given 5 sections of Math to do which is the reason I wasn't on here yesterday or Sunday night. Did hear a lot of Steeler haters Monday. Decided to still wear the Stairway to 7 shirt even though Pit lost. Not gonna get into what they said simply because this is far longer than it should be. Get to aftermath:

Steelers had one helluva season. No one can disagree with that with all the crap that the team had to go through. Do I believe the Steelers will miss the playoffs next season? No! Do I believe Ben is elite? Yea just a rough game. I don't believe it was karma guys. He paid his dues to get where he was at. He was suspended for it. That was the karma my friend. I don't think the Steelers wanted it as much as the Packers did. As I said stopping practice a bit short to have fun and what not. Packers do deserve that Super Bowl. They earned it and no one can disagree with that. Packers D forced 3 turnovers. They played a great game and deserve to be called the Super Bowl champs. Even though I didn't watch the end of the game along with who the MVP was named. It was Aaron Rodgers of course. Get texts from ESPN for NFL news. He played a pretty good game. I personally would have given it to the defensive player who scored the TD. Forget his name....sorry guys as I said I don't follow the Packers. I know very few defensive players on their football team. Woodson and Matthews are probably it for me. Not bashing Rodgers. The guy is elite and a great quarterback. Would I take him over Ben? No! Do I think the Steelers won their last Super Bowl under Ben Roethlisberger? Not a chance....I can see him winning two more at least before he hangs his helmet up. Do I believe the Packers will be in the Super Bowl again under Aaron Rodgers? Of course.....no doubt in my mind. Wouldn't surprise me in the future we see a Super Bowl rematch. This to is just the beginning of a Steelers/Packer rivalry. Ben Roethlisberger vs Aaron Rodgers rivalry as well. They are the next generation. To me they are right up there with Manning and Brady if not above them. I certainly believe Rodgers and Ben are above Brees. Just an opinion of course. Anyways I'm open to taking some bashing from you guys I suppose or even answer questions you might have for me. LOL! I hope Steelers get to avenge the loss in the Super Bowl at some point. Fact of the matter is the Packers are the 2010 Super Bowl 45 champs whether I like it or not. Congrats to Packers and their fans. Certainly deserve it for one helluva season. Surprised??SurprisedDon't be......STAY JEALOUS!!Cool

NFL Super Bowl 45 Steelers vs Packers preview

A battle between two NFL historic franchises. Both teams are quoted as "the best teams of all-time." The two teams are in difference conferences. The Pittsburgh Steelers vs the Green Bay Packers. What a matchup! Couldn't ask for a better one. Both teams deserve to be where they are at. They are headed to Dallas in front of probably the largest crowd to ever witness a Super Bowl. I got a text the other day saying it is expected 105,000 fans will be in the Stadium. In any case here is my preview for the Super Bowl 45.

Packers: Their keys to win this football game is pretty clear. Protect Aaron Rodgers, Defense stop the run, defense get in Roethlisbergers face all game long, and finally special teams don't give up good field position. Do all that they should win the football game.

Steelers: Same thing on special teams, get a running game going, protect Ben, defense get in Rodgers face, defense don't allow a running game. They do that and win time of possession they should win this football game.

I think that is critical for both teams is time of possession. It will be key in these evenly matched teams. I'm gonna pick the Steelers to win this football game and I fully expect a classic ending.

I wanna make this perfectly clear......Aaron Rodgers is an elite quarterback. He is one of the best in the game right now. To me he is a top 5 quarterback. I don't believe this will be the last time Rodgers/Packers and Roethlisberger/Steelers will face off in a Super Bowl. To me this is a beginning of a rivalry. These two guys will be the best two quarterbacks in the game when Brady and Manning finally hang up their boots. I felt as if I been a bit too harsh on Rodgers. He is a great quarterback and Ben Roethlisberger is as well.

A look back at Steelers/Packers season

A battle between two NFL historic franchises. Both teams are quoted as "the best teams of all-time." The two teams are in difference conferences. The Pittsburgh Steelers vs the Green Bay Packers. What a matchup! Couldn't ask for a better one. Both teams deserve to be where they are at. They are headed to Dallas in front of probably the largest crowd to ever witness a Super Bowl. I got a text the other day saying it is expected 105,000 fans will be in the Stadium. In any case before I give my preview for the Super Bowl I'm gonna state some of the struggles both teams have had this season to get to where they are.

As a Steeler fan I will probably name more for the fact I know more about the franchise cuz I'm a Steelers fan. Both teams have faced a lot of adversity to get to where they are. For the Steelers it started in the off-season. Ben was suspended for 6 games than later reduced to 4 games. Leftwich expected to be the starter than got injured so Dixon got the nod. He got injured in the Titans football game. Batch took the reigns and by the time Ben returned the team had a record of 3-1. Of course offensive lineman Willie Colon was injured before the season along with other injuries. No one expected the Steelers to win the division, but the Steelers ended up doing just that. 1 loss to all division rivals. It is rather impressive record they ended with 12 wins. James Harrison controversy began during a Cleveland Browns game which he was fined for a lot of hits during the year. Fines were later reduced. Ben Roethlisberger and the passing game did just fine without Holmes. If you ask me the Steelers did just as good as they did last year. Mike Wallace had emerged in my opinion a top 5 wideout! Holmes was traded during the offseason and Steelers were given a 5th round pick in return. I was upset when I heard, but happy now. In any case the Steelers exceeded expectations. Proved all the doubters wrong. They defeated the Ravens and the Jets in the playoffs. Both teams were media picks before the season began. Successful season that is not done just yet.....The Super Bowl championship game is about a week or so away.

Packers also exceeded expectations with several of their starters being put on IR, Aaron Rodgers concussions, the list goes on. They were forced to win 3 or so amount of games to even get to the playoffs. On the road as a wildcard defeating great teams. The likes include Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, and the Atlanta Falcons. Their sites are now on the Super Bowl championship. Now facing their biggest challenge of them all as is Pittsburgh. Their is one team in their way of getting a Super Bowl championship. I can tell ya it will be one helluva game. I will make a Super Bowl preview after I post this. Sorry I had more to say about the Steelers than the Packers. Just that I don't really follow their football team. On Sundays I may check if they win or lose, but other than that I really don't follow the team.

Packers vs Bears NFC Championship preview

To me it is the greatest rivalry in NFL history. You can't really argue with that. Both teams have battled for almost a century. Faced against each the most times. I dislike both football teams, but I can honestly say that it is the greatest rivalry in the NFL history. Both teams have rich history......whoever wins this ball game will not only have bragging rights, but the oppurtunity to win a Super Bowl in Dallas. My preview for the ball game is as follows:

As I have stated before I picked the Packers to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Rooting for the Bears of course unfortunatley despite it. Bears have home field advantage. Packers have been in playoff form for about a month now. Who has the advantage? Both coming off victories with 2 TDs at least. Falcons are as I said over-rated. They weren't as good as their record and it showed in the playoffs. I'm not again a strong believer in the Bears despite their win over the Seahawks. If they defeat the Packers I will start believing. I challenged Falcons last week to prove me wrong. Now I'm challenging the Bears. Do us a favor and the sooner Rodgers is eliminated from the playoffs the less we will have to listen to the love affair with the media.

Keys in this football game for the Bears: I think the key in this football game for their defense is to pressure Aaron Rodgers. Sack him a couple times and get in his face. Make sure he knows you are there. If they do that I give them a better chance of winning the football game. Not only that, but on offense Forte and the running game in general will have to be great. They rush for over 100 yards their chances will be very high as well to win the ball game. Control the tempo of the game. Keep Rodgers off the football field. Win time of possession the game is yours if indeed all these keys play out.

Packers side of things: Key pressure Cutler, Don't allow them to have a running game, and Force them to throw the football. Do that on defense they will have a good day. Special teams will be a factor in this football game. Packers arn't that great on that side of the ball like the Bears are. Hester is one of the best if not thee best at returning the football for a TD!! Offense protect Aaron Rodgers!! Do that Packers win the football game.

Picking the Packers again to win the football game and represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Prove me wrong Bears especially you Cutler!

Packers vs Falcons divisional postseason preview

Who has the advantage in this great football game? The Falcons of course had the bye along with home field advantage which is key. Matt Ryan is great on home field. His track record show that fact. Only 2 losses at home. The Packers on the other hand has been in playoff form for weeks now. Having to win several games in a row to make it to where they are. Who has the advantage? You decide.

Anyways my pick as it was before the postseason began is the Packers. The Packers defense has played great this year. It is top 5 if you go by stats and what not. Game winning INT to pick up the road win in Philly. The momentum by victories over Philly, Chicago, and so on gives them a great amount of confidence heading to the Georgia Dome to play Atlanta. The main key in this football game to me is Turner vs GB defense. If Turner has success on the ground the Falcons will win the ball game. If not I'm even more certain that the Packers will win the football game.

On offense for the Packers is obviously based around Aaron Rodgers and the passing game. Running game showed up in Philly. Can they get it going? That will be a factor as well. Falcons defense got to force turnovers if Turner isn't solid on the ground. Falcons won earlier in the season. That fact won't matter heading into the ball game. Both teams have got advantages, but to me the Packers will come out on top again even though I will be rooting against them again this week.

Good luck to both football teams. The winner of this football game will be representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. Again just an opinion. I'll be rooting for the Falcons. Prove me wrong Falcons! Surprised??SurprisedDon't be.........STAY JEALOUS!!Cool

Seahawks vs Bears divisional playoff preview

Wildcard weekend was great. All the games were all except the KC/Baltimore game. In any case the Seahawks went in as a division winner which made them have home field advantage. It really was in that game. Seahawks played a great football game in one of the biggest upsets in playoff history. It was great indeed and I'm gonna be rooting for another upset this weekend when they head to Chicago to take on the Bears.

Both teams won their divisions during the regular season. Bears earned home field advantage and a bye. I've stated on several occasions that I don't believe the Bears are for real. Of course I have been proved wrong before as everyone else have. Unless they get to the Super Bowl this year I won't believe they are for real. They are facing the Seahawks and one would think it will be easy. The Seahawks have gained a ton of momentum after that big win over the Saints. I'm very impressed by them. They are playing playoff football at the right time. I'm calling an upset to be honest. I wouldn't be shocked if they lose next week and the Bears go on to the NFC championship. I'm not a fan of either team, but a fan of upsets. I believe they can get it done.

Seahawks obviously have got to stop the ground game of the Bears and force Cutler to throw the football. On offense try to get the ground game going with Lynch. Put pressure off Hasselback. Lack of weapons for both teams at the receiver position is the reason why both will want to get a running game going and control the clock. The Bears on offense have got to create a running game led by Matt Forte. Seahawks defense isn't known for their rush defense so obviously they should be able to get it done. Defense did pretty well vs the Saints last week. A much better offense than the Bears.Seahawks can get it done if they bring that intensity they brought in the wildcard game. As for Bears defense obviously they got to force Hasselback to throw the football. Control John Carlson in the pass game as well. He had a great game vs the Saints. One of their best targets they have in the passing game. Bears have one of the best defenses in the game. I figure if they play that way than they should win this football game. Again I wouldn't be surprised if Bears take this football game. They should, but I'm picking the Seahawks. I believe they can get it done, but if they don't it really doesn't matter. Unless if the Bears go to the Super Bowl this year I won't believe they are for real. I have the same feeling about the Falcons. Prove me wrong Bears! Go to the Super Bowl! Surprised??SurprisedDon't be........STAY JEALOUS!!Cool

NFC playoff predictions 2010

As of right now the matchups are set for the wildcard. I will predict who will win those matchups and explain why or why that team does win or lose. I'll do it unbiased here. Despite my hate for the Packers last week I predicted they would represent the NFC in the super bowl which I'm sticking by. Saints to me are the favorites in the NFC. I can say that despite my despise of the Saints. LOL! Don't like a lot of NFC teams to be honest. Let's get to it!

My 2010 NFC playoff predictions:

NFC Wildcard round:
#5 Saints vs # 4 Seahawks-The obvious favorite is the Saints by a big margin. They got the experience in the playoffs plus they are healthy. Seahawks are the first team to make the playoffs with a losing record. That is why all the bets are on the Saints. I am as well picking the Saints. I don't think this will be a passing game myself to be honest. I figure Saints will not have to pass that often. I figure they will run all over the terrible Seahawks defense. All Seahawks really can do on offense is throw the football which is Saints strength on defense is stopping the pass. That is another advantage for them. All factors go towards the way of the Saints winning. Saints win big!!

#6 Packers vs #3 Eagles-This game may be the best game of the week. It will be for the NFC anyway. Coming in this game Eagles have lost their last few games of the season. Not a good way to end a season heading into the playoffs with no momentum. Packers on the other hand do. They have a bunch of momentum that is one of the reasons I like the football team. They beat the Chicago Bears with their starters in to make sure they get their spot in the playoffs. They are just on a roll right now defeating Giants as well. Playing good at the right time despite injuries. The Eagles are coming in with a struggling running game which I don't think will be able to help them vs the Packers. I believe Packers defense will be in Vick's face. Notably Clay Matthews! I don't believe Vick will be able to lead the Eagles to victory with the pass game without some help from the ground game. Packers were ranked one of the top defenses in the league during the season. It isn't gonna be easy to get it done. I don't like their chances and I'm not picking them in this game. I like the Packers and they are my pick. I don't believe their defense can stop Green Bay's passing game which will lead them out of the playoffs.

Picking two wildcards to face win in the divisional round. Interesting........

NFC Divisional round:
#6 Packers vs #1 Falcons-I'm one of those guys who don't believe the Falcons are as good as their record. I stated this last week when I was breaking down each team to get to say who I'm picking to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. The Falcons do have a good running game and a pretty solid passing game, but I don't like them vs the Packers. Falcons did get home field advantage which is a plus. They are much better at home as everyone knows. Record shows it with Matt Ryan behind center. Packers did defeat the Falcons during the season. I believe Packers D can stop their offense. Tampa can I know Packers can. Again Packers offense will be a bit strong for Falcons defense too handle. For them to be successful Turner will have to have a big game to open up for the pass. I don't think they will be able to get it done. I think Packers win by 10 points.

#5 Saints vs #2 Chicago Bears-I'm still one of those nonbelievers in the Bears. I do believe the favorite is the Saints going into this game despite Chicago having home field as well. Saints will be coming in with a bunch of confidence in this ball game after a large margin victory over the Seahawks. Chicago will have to come out with determination and far more passion in this ball game. I mean it feels as if according to reports Bear players are lacking confidence which is why the starters played their final regular season game is they would come in the playoffs with no momentum. That was their fear. Confidence will play a factor of course. I'm picking the Saints to win not only because of that fact, but because I like the Saints offense a lot. Yea Bears have a good defense, but they have yet to face the Saints. It will be rather tough, but they have faced an offense 2x a year that passes just like the Saints. so they may be more prepared than anybody for the Saints. I believe the Bears will need to establish a running game to be successful in this game. They may be able to do that, but I'm betting Cutler will make mistakes to cost the Bears the ball game. He will be facing a rather good pass defense. Cutler has been known to throw INTs in his career. Wouldn't surprise me if he ends the season that way. Saints win 10+

I hate both teams, but I believe they are the best teams in the NFC. Despite record of course. LOL!

NFC Championship:
#6 Packers vs #5 Saints-If this were to happen both wildcards teams make the NFC championship the Saints will be the ones with the home field advantage. Obviously.....As I said I'm giving the nod to the Packers because of their defense. I figure they will put pressure on Drew Brees which will hurt the Saints chances of winning the ball game. Saints defense has never faced a passing football team like the Packers. Not talking about last year(Indy).Talking about this year. I figure the defense will struggle. Of course I can be wrong, but with the Packers offense so strong and their defense is one of the best I just can't see them losing. The key to the game will be rather or not Brees will be protected. That will decide the game. To me the Packers will come out on top and they will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Surprised??SurprisedDon't be..........STAY JEALOUS!!Cool
