You sit back watching Orlando Magic play and you get shots of Otis Smith watching the game. I think to myself, what the hell is he thinking? Orlando is playing in the mids of the Eastern Conference like last year. No real improvement at all. Why is he sitting on his hands not making any moves to try to improve this basketball team? Does he want Dwight to return? Is the reason he isn't considering trading Nelson is simply because he is tight with Dwight believing he will lure him to return? I'm pretty certain that Dwight doesn't want to play with Nelson any longer when you hear about him wanting to go play with D-Will in New Jersey.
Another thing I don't understand is Dwight's top team to go to is New Jersey. Out of all the teams in the NBA you can choose, you want to go to New Jersey? The same team that was beaten by Orlando by about 20 points. Wouldn't doubt it if Orlando could beat the Nets without Dwight on the floor. The team is 2-8 currently as the 2nd worst team in the Eastern Conference only above the Wizards. If Dwight wants to win a championship, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
If someone asked me what Orlando needed....I would say a point guard who can make players around him better. Dish assists and be a solid scoring option when he is needed. Who fits that bill? Chris Paul was obviously my first choice, but no way Orlando can get him now with him in LA. Why not get Steve Nash? Why Nash or CP3? They were in bad situations where they are. Neither can win a championship if they want to. All PHX fans want Nash to go to a different team to compete for an NBA championship. I say why not take a risk? Hell if you must, try to get Grant Hill back in an Orlando uniform for old time sakes to make Nash feel more comfortable.
My proposed trade:
Nash, Grant Hill, and Channing Frye-Some may ask why these 3 players? Orlando will probably need a power forward in return if they give up a guy like Ryan Anderson who in my opinion is probably the 2nd best player on the team right now. Frye can hit 3s as well. Of course Hill for reunion purposes and Nash for obvious reasons.
Ryan Anderson, Jameer Nelson, 1 or 2 1st rounders, and if that ain't enough....give them whomever they want besides Dwight Howard. I doubt they would want Turk back o. As long as Nash comes to Orlando, I could care less who comes with him or who doesn't. Otis has got to do something. I figure he thinks Dwight will return. LOL!

Of course with all the talk about CP3 over the past year....the only possible scenario Orlando would be able to get CP3 is package Nelson and Bass would probably be the best deal without draft picks. I think they would find the trade a good one because Nelson and Bass are young players. They have 3 years locked up with them as well. With the possibility of David West walking they would like this deal even more. Have I gone crazy or do you believe that would be good enough to get CP3? CP3 for Bass and Nelson if not good enough possible draft picks. As for CP3 contract expiring. I figure CP3 would resign with Orlando if he got to play with Dwight Howard.
I'd love for the rumor to be true as well. Of course I'm meaning the Iggy for Hedo swap. It would be nice.
At this point the roster would look like this:
2.Possibly J-Rich or try a sign and trade with a team(most likely Bulls)/Redick/Stevenson maybe.
4.This basically depends on if Orlando could get a sign and trade deal with J-Rich. I know I might take a verbal beating for this, but Boozer wouldn't be that bad of an addition. Heard rumors about Boozer being on the market. Dwight and him are friends. It could lure him to stay in Orlando as well. If not sign and trade possibly address that in FA with MLE. If not try and trade for one. LA might trade Barnes back to Orlando for a draft pick or something even Ryan Anderson or Orton and a draft pick. Boozer/Ryan Anderson/Orton....hope LA trade Barnes back o. He was missed last season.
5.Dwight howard/Orton and possibly sign some guy from FA to min. contract.
Wouldn't that be awesome or what?
J-Rich or sign and trade hopefully/Stevenson/Redick
Boozer possibly in J-Rich deal/Ryan Anderson
Dwight Howard/Orton/someone to minimum contract
What do you think? Anything is possible right?

Spurs-sign or draft a center. Dalembert would be a good sign and I think he would take a pay cut to win a championship. Heck try Yoa if price isn't too steep.
Lakers-sign a point guard!! Aaron Brooks is available in FA and would take a paycut to play for them without a doubt.
Mavs-resign Tyson Chandler
Thunder-sign a power forward named Jeff Green. That would suck for Boston.
Nuggets-Hope Chandler and Afflalo sign qualifying offers and resign JR Smith.
Trail Blazers-sign a backup center since Oden won't be able to play til January.
Hornets-get a shooting guard and resign David West. Get a Deshaun Stevenson or a JR Smith. I think the price tag would be a bit steep to get Jason Richardson, but they should give it a try if they want.
Grizzlies-resign Marc Gasol
Chicago Bulls-sign a shooting guard obviously. Target is gonna be obviously on Richardson in which the place I think J-Rich will end up. JR Smith and Stevenson are also good targets as well.
Miami Heat-Get Lebron to work on his gmae....LOL! Resign Chalmers to me is a priorty for the Heat. He is cheap, young, and is one of the best FAs out there who is that cheap.
Boston Celtics-resign Jeff Green!
Orlando Magic-RESIGN J-Rich or try to do a sign and trade with a team to get something out of him.
Atlanta Hawks-resign Jamal Crawford for hopefully less than 10 million.
New York Knicks-sign a center! Just imagine Yoa joining New York. LOL! I'd try and save money for next offseason o.
76ers-resign Thaddeus Young!!
Pacers-sign a shooting guard!!

After the trades Orlando made figured I would give an opinion on what the best lineup would be for Orlando.
Right now Orlando has 4 point guards which I figure will have to lead to a trade sooner rather than later. Jason Williams and Duhon are of course the backup guards. Nelson and Arenas starting at the point is still at question. I've been vocal about wanting Orlando to trade for a point guard that can score consistantly. Unfortunately Nelson was not that guy. He and Arenas are young players. If Arenas does indeed stay healthy which I don't know, but if he did I would trade Nelson in a second or at least put him up to get some good offers to help the team elsewhere. The only worry I have with that is Nelson and Dwight have great chemistry which would lead me to believe he will be starting. Also hurt the chances of him being traded. I don't like the idea of having two point guards starting. If the team played LA who would guard Kobe? Certainly not Arenas.
Starting shooting guard should be Jason Richardson. Backups Q and Redick. Prefer Redick and Q be the backup for Turkoglu at the 3. Never got to see Earl Clark really play so it will be interesting to see what Orlando got.
Power forward position starter should be Bass with Anderson as the backup. Don't mind them with split minutes. Anderson isn't much of a rebounder, but he is good at the 3. Bass is more of a rebounder and he can shoot the ball at a distance as well. Bass brings a lot of energy to the lineup. I think he deserves this chance to start.
Center obviously Dwight Howard. Malik Allen and rookie center Daniel Orton will be the backup for him. Figure Allen will get the majority of the minutes with Orton coming off an injury. In any case I do believe Orlando didn't get better from the deals, but time will tell of course.

As we all know thee Orlando Magic made some big trades after losing 5 of their last 6 games. A change was needed. I knew it myself. I wanted a trade to happen before the deadline. I've been very vocal about it. Well Otis Smith did make some trades. 2 big trades! 1 with the Phoenix Suns another with the Washington Wizards.
The first trade was reported that Vince Carter, Peitrus, Gortat, 1st round pick along with $3,000 to the Phoenix Suns. In return the Orlando Magic received Turk, Jason Richardson, and Earl Clark. When first hearing about the trade their wasn't anything about Gortat involvement til later. Unfortunately he was involved in this trade. To me the biggest loss in the trade is Gortat. Great bench player for the Magic. He would step up when Howard was in foul trouble or when he needed rest. I was most upset with his involvement in the deal which leads me to believe Phoenix won in this deal. Carter has had a pretty good season. At least at home anyway. On the road not so much. Peitrus is a great defender. He will be missed coming off the bench for the Orlando Magic. He can hit the 3 as well. Carter with a big contract which could lead him to get dropped by the Suns at the end of the season for some cap relief. Gortat is a center that Phoenix could have been looking for. He can finally have an oppurtunity to be a starter. I think he is better than Lopez. Just an opinion of course. May be biased...............
Anyways the Magic receive a troubled Turkoglu, Jason Richardson, and Earl Clark. Turkoglu has been lost ever since his great performance in the playoffs the year Magic made it to the Finals in 2009. He went to Toronto to be with his friend Bosh and get an extra two million instead of taking a chance to be on a championship team. He was no where near his performance in Orlando. He eventually was benched and later traded to PHX. Now back with Orlando where he has won awards like most improved player and so on. I figure he can get back into his old play in Orlando. Hopefully I'm right for Orlandos sake. Earl Clark was just a throw in. Not really a factor at all. As for Jason Richardson who is having a great season thus far in PHX. He certainly can score. Hopefully he will bring that to Orlando. I've been saying for quite a while now Orlando needs a consistant scorer. Big loss defensively for Orlando in this trade. I think PHX got the better end of the deal.
2nd trade involved Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas and Orlando Magic Forward Rashard Lewis. I think personally this deal was won by Orlando, but you can make statements for both teams for why the opposing one. Arenas and Lewis have bad contracts. Lewis is just not having a good season. PPG for Lewis is 12.2. Not good at all. Gilbert Arenas is looking pretty good despite not playing his natural position at the 1 cuz of the addition of John Wall. Got a bit of a problem with so many point guards on one roster. I don't like the idea of Gilbert possibly sitting on the bench or playing at the 2. If Orlando plays LA who guards Kobe? I prefer Jason Richardson, but if he plays at the 3 than it isn't possible. Anyways I'll make a post at what I prefer the lineup should be. Figure this is a bit too long as it is. Anyways I think Orlando didn't get better after both of these deals. To me they have lost more than they have gained. What do you think?

Melo informed Nuggets he will not sign the deal that was on the table unless he is traded to the Knicks. He wants to a Knick. How many times have we heard that in the last decade. I think this might be one of the very few have said this with his star power anyway. How will Knicks pull this off? Ball is really in their court. Are the Nuggets not gonna trade him and get nothing. I don't think so personally. I think he is becoming more of a distraction to the Nuggets. Which the team really doesn't need right now. I'm sure Nugget fans are upset with his decision. I am as well as a Magic fan. I had hopes on the Magic getting him via trade. They have good pieces to make a trade more so than the Knicks or the Nets. Knicks will need a third team. Well at least Nuggets hope they get a third team involved to get what they want. Other than Amare their team is garbage. No offense to Felton. Knicks have exceeded expectations thus far. Knick fans should be very happy their team is finally winning basketball games. Which is a plus cuz of the famous arena they play in. Make some more history in it. Nuggets really have no choice in this. They trade him by the deadline which will be best for their team. He will only be a distraction. He may fake injuries to not play for the Nuggets if they don't. I highly doubt if they keep Melo they will win a championship anyways. I say get some value for Melo. Hope for your sake it isn't little. Hope Magic gets a scorer. Prefer a point guard that can also pass. In any case good luck to both Melo and the Nuggets. Been a good run....hope they arn't as bad as the Cavs are without their superstar. Surprised??Don't be......STAY JEALOUS!!!
