The New York Jets are coming off a big win vs a Pats rival the Indianapolis Colts. Very big win I didn't expect. Jets definately put up and they are still talking. The question is will the Hoodie shut their mouths for good? Pat players have been told to keep their mouths shut. Which is fine. The Pats and Jets have had a rivalry. Obviously both teams are Super Bowl contenders. If they weren't they wouldn't have had all the hype surrounding their teams.
The Pats have not lost in so so games at home in the regular season. In the playoffs that is a different story. Ravens demolished the Pats last year at home in the wildcard round. They are also on a current consecutive losing streak in the playoffs. -2 losing streak losses to the Ravens and the Giants make that fact.
The Jets have defeated the Pats before in the regular season. They can get it done again their is no doubt in my mind about it. They were the media's top pick heading into the regular season. Now the Pats are! The media loves these two teams. I expect big coverage from this football game.
Jets surprised us all last year when they made the playoffs and went through the Chargers and Bengals. Bengals two weeks in a row as a matter of fact. They certainly arn't a pushover. They beat the Colts for goodness sake. They are a good football team that talks a lot of smack. Lets see if they can back it up when they meet their biggest rival in the AFC East the New England Patriots. Couple of keys to win this football game. On offense they have got to establish a ground game. Control the tempo of the football game. As for defense obviously put pressure on Tom Brady.
New England side of things obviously protect Tom Brady. The biggest key in this football game is that. Offensive line vs the defensive line. If Tom Brady isn't pressured he will have a great football game. He isn't in the MVP conversation for nothing. Led the team to 20+ straight home win in the regular season. His record in the playoffs isn't too bad either. 14-4 is his record. He is one of the best without a doubt. Since the Browns stomping the team has pretty much been unbeatable. The defense didn't give up points is one of the reasons the team was so great during that stretch. The defense was the best in that stretch. Can't argue with that. In any case the defensive key in this football game for the Pats is stop the run and force Sanchez to throw the football. Do that they for sure will get the victory. I'm picking the Pats as is everyone else. Prove me wrong again Jets. You will earn a ton of respect if you beat the Pats. Surprised??Don't be.......STAY JEALOUS!!

In my personal opinion to me Rodgers was over-rated for a long time, but the playoff win sealed it. I love watching football games and watching videos to hype up the game. See the guys picks and so on and so forth. Listening all this week how Aaron Rodgers is the reason Packers win football games. He has no help yada yada yada. Personally I don't believe that. Last year I can make an argument it was just as much Rodgers fault for them losing as the defense. The playoff game last year went to OT. A shootout between both Warner and Rodgers. Which is fine some folks love football games like that. Neither defense was that great last season. Anyways point is Rodgers had a chance to win the football game in overtime. Yea defense shouldn't have gave up so so points, but Cardinals defense did the same. I mean if Warner and Rodgers didn't score so frequently quick they wouldn't have had that many possessions. Green Bay got the ball in OT. Rodgers lost the fumble that was recovered and went for a TD by the cardinals defense. To say it wasn't Rodgers fault is really an understatement. That's like saying Mannings INTs vs the Pats didn't cost them the game. Or Vick's INT on the final drive didn't cost the Eagles the football game. It was Rodgers fault they lost the football game. If you don't agree to that logic you are a mark for Rodgers.

I was thinking about not doing this cuz of course the critics. Decided to do it anyways. Here is my AFC playoff predictions in which I will give a breakdown of each game in which why or why not they will win or lose that ball game.
#5 Ravens vs #4 Chiefs-Chiefs ended their season with a loss to the Raiders. Their offense seemed like it couldn't get going vs the Ravens. Of course it can change on any given day. Not the momentum you want coming in vs the Ravens. I think Chiefs got a much tougher matchup than they wanted. Could have faced the New York Jets. Anyways I figure the Chiefs will be able to get the running game going, but mistakes by Matt Cassel will cost them in the end. Ed Reed will snag an INT in this ball game for sure. It will come down to their passing game in the end which again I don't think will win them the game. Figure the experience in the playoffs will be a factor in this ball game. Ravens are the favorite, but anything could happen. They will establish a running game and will make this a ball game. It will be closer than one would think. I say Ravens win 7-10 points.
#6 Jets vs #3 Colts-A team the Jets didn't want to see. Last year we all know what happened. I'm not gonna base my prediction on last year o. Jets have struggled thru their last half of the season. Going 9-2 and losing some games along the way to finally make the playoffs. I don't know if I would say the Jets are far more improved than they were last year. Record wise it shows, but their passing game still stinks, rushing game wasn't what it once was, yada yada yada. I don't think the Jets will rush that well vs the Colts even though they have a history of giving up huge yardage on the ground. Their rush defense has improved not giving up huge numbers to the Titans which is impressive. I think Manning will have a great day and have more than 3 passing TDs. Garcon will have an outstanding performance. Colts will win this ball game. Not big, but they will win by more than 10 points. Ends will be in Sanchez face all day, but I figure that their passing game will be the reason they stay competitive in the game.
AFC Divisional round:
#5 Ravens vs #1 Pats-Figure this will be a good game. It will go down to the very second. Unfortunately I figure the Pats will pull it out to go on to the AFC championship. Thanks to Joe Flacco passing game inconsistant. He will cost the team the game. Not really a lot of breakdown. Everyone knows what to expect. Ravens defense will keep it close. Rice will rush for over 100 yards. Flacco will have a chance to lead his team to victory, but loses in the end thanks to inconsistant play.
#3 Colts vs #2 Steelers-Figure Mendenhall will have a great day on the ground. Home field is always good to have. Figure Pittsburgh passing game won't be much of a factor cuz I figure Colts ends will be in Ben's face all day. It will be important for the offensive line to protect Ben, but I doubt they will which will lead to some short routes to convert on 3rd down. Mendenhall and "RedZone will have a big day. That will be the focus for the Steelers offense. Peyton will throw some INTs in this game and their running game won't be there. Figure it will happen. Big win for Pittsburgh!
#2 Steelers vs #1 Patriots-Patriots will be at home and have everyone picking them. Last time around it was a lot different than it will be this time around. Steelers have a new kicker, they may have Aaron Smith, have more than 5 healthy offensive lineman to play the game, Steelers will have far more determination, Steelers are under the radar this time around, no one is picking them which is an advantage for the steelers as well. The list goes on! Fact is this will be a helluva game. Last time Patriots came in with a huge loss to the Ravens which brought out more determination and more of a reason to want to win the ball game. Figure the Steelers didn't take the game seriously enough. Which it is a regular season game of course. Playoffs is where the Steelers play the best. Number 1 defense in the league along with the kicker only missing one field goal since being signed after the Pats game. Impressive if you ask me. Steelers offense looks great. The factor in this game will be to put pressure on Tom Brady. That offensive line holds just as much as Rex Ryan holds his wife's feet. LOL! Maybe this time around the refs will be looking somewhere other than Brady's backside. The way the refs have been calling against the Steelers it finds it more realistic to believe this will be the game that will cost them cuz of the refs. It will happen. I hope Harrison is in Brady's face all game. Can't if a guys yanking on his jersey. If Steelers have Aaron Smith back they may be able to get that pressure on Brady. In any case I believe the Steelers offense will be fine vs the Pats defense. Pittsburgh wins if Brady is pressured which I have confidence that Steelers can get it done this time around. Steelers will go on to the Super Bowl to represent the AFC. 1st to 6.......on a stairway to 7. Surprised??Don't be......STAY JEALOUS!!

Their is some reasons why I made this particular post. One because every single day on the boards we have some man love with Tom Brady. It just makes me sick. He is the MVP because he does more with less and yada yada yada. Vick was injured during the season so he can't receive thee award. Vick is a dog killer. His past is the reason he should not be MVP. Blah, blah, blah, blah.....
Let me start out by saying I am one of the very few who backed Vick when he returned last year to the NFL. I still support the guy. I believe he should be MVP. He has done a lot for his football team. Same with Tom Brady. I should also voice I dislike Tom Brady a lot more than any player in the NFL. Never liked the guy and probably never will. That aside....I still believe Vick has had just as good of a season as Brady as. In my opinion a better season.
Brady has played in more games than Vick has. 3 more to be exact. Let's do a little bit of comparison as to how both of them got here. Vick wasn't even scheduled to be the starting quarterback for the Eagles come week 1. It was Kelvin Kolb. I personally believed Vick should have started or at least given the oppurtunity to win the job. That wasn't the case. Kolb was injured so Vick stepped in and had stellar performances til he gets hurt. It kinda goes back and forth til Vick is finally healthy. He keeps the job finally. That is one of the reasons Vick should be the MVP. He wasn't even supposed to the starter. Now he is an MVP candidate? Wow just wow.
As for Brady's side of things. Moss was an issue in the locker room apparently so Bill traded him to the Vikings. They sign Woodhead, trade for Branch and they are set for one great season. No doubt about that statement. To me their is in this quote "Tom Brady has done more with less" unquote. For those of you who wasn't a Pats fan til they started their success. Let me state Branch was on the Pats during Pats Super Bowl runs in the early 00s. He received a Super Bowl MVP award for his performance. The only reason he hasn't been the same player is because the health of himself and the health of his quarterback Matt Hasselback on the Seahawks. As for Woodhead the guy is averaging over 5 yards per carry. He gets very few chances to even run the ball, but he still averages that number. They have finally found their future back in Woodhead. Pats are a passing football team more so than a running. Everyone should know that by now. Welker was a success in Miami before he came to New England. Bill said he would have trouble stopping the guy so eventually picked him up for that fact. The guy avgs 100 catches a year. Very few can reach that mark. Those type of guys arn't less. Just because they arn't superstars don't mean they are garbage without Brady and Belichick. Saying that is slapping all those guys in the face for what they do for that football team. As far as rookie tight ends go they drafted those guys being top tight ends to pick in the draft.
Let's take a look at the famous stat sheet that everybody throws up in the MVP discussion. The number of games will be brought up. Already mentioned it in the post. Brady has thrown for a total of 3561 passing yards. Vick on the other hand has thrown for 2755 yards in 3 less games than Brady. Vick has also rushed for 613 yards and for 8 TDs. Brady has rushed 17 yards for 1 TD. Brady has thrown 1 less interception than Vick also with only 4. Vick has been sacked more times than Brady has which is saying something playing less games than him. Finally Brady has thrown for 31 TDs and Vick has thrown 20 TDs.
To me Vick deserves this award not only because of the stat sheet, but because all of the stuff he has had to go through to get where he is now. Whats your opinion on this?

As everyone knows I strongly dislike the Pats more than any team in the league. I have had several posts expressing that fact. In any case my unbiased prediction is the Pats will beat the Jets this time around.
I figure the Pats will even up the division series after this game that has a lot of playoff implications. Jets have won a lot of games late and have won games without an offensive TD. (Hint: vs Packers 9-0)I personally think their defense won't be enough this time. Pats defense is better than given credit for. Offense is one of the best in the league thanks to trick plays. It is hard not to believe that they can win the ball game with the streak they are on. Beating teams like Steelers, Colts, ect. The team is just on a roll right now. I give the Pats the edge for other reasons as well. Mark Sanchez can't wait til the 4th quarter and expect a comeback. The guy has got to play better period. I don't think the Jets will be successful vs the Pats offense this time around. Pats will be coming out with more determination to win just because Jets won last time.
I expect a win for the Pats. Of course I'm rooting for the Jets in this one, but due to the lack of offense the Jets really have with the luck on them these past few games. I expect their luck to run out at this game which will begin the Jets downward spiral and lead them out of the playoffs. Just a prediction. No disrespect to the Jets, but I don't believe they will be in the same position to win football games. If the Jets start out well I can see a win, but as of right now and my prediction is a Pats win. Good luck to Jets Sunday. Beatem plz....prove me wrong.

I have been thinking about the wildcard spots. I already have predicted the division winners. Now the wildcard spots are even tougher. Some folks disagree with me. I just wanted to see what everyone elses wildcard predicitons this year. I give the two wildcard spots to........One to the AFC North team and an AFC East team.
AFC West is simply the weakest division in the AFC so it is obvious they are not gonna have a wildcard team.
AFC South is a pretty good division, but with Texans having the toughest schedule in the NFL I don't think they can get it done this year. As for the Titans I don't believe CJ will have another stellar season as he did last year. He is their offense. As for the Colts, I believe the Colts will take the division again this year.
AFC East has in some folks opinion three great playoff caliber teams. I don't see the Dolphins a lot better than last years football team. Marshall is gonna be a bust. Brown is gonna get injured.....again. I don't see it. The Pats will take the division again. At least I believe so. As for the Jets they will take the wildcard spot. Great defense with some problems with chemistry which is the reason I believe they will not take the division. Contract issues with Revis isn't helping the situation either. Let's see if they can get it done without the Colts laying down for them.
AFC North is the best division in the NFL. No question about it.
Bengals made some decent acquistions, but I don't see them getting lucky again this season. They won't be making the playoffs. I don't believe in all the hype. T.O. doesn't make a team that great. If he did than wouldn't a team signed him before the end of July. Antonio Bryant is terrible!! Why do you think they went out and got T.O. They do have weapons as do other teams. Carson Palmer and the passing game isn't the reason they were successful last year nor this year. It will be because of the running game and the defense of the Bengals.
Ravens will be taking the last wildcard spot. Actually they will take the 5th spot because I think they will finish better than the Jets. They have a great football team. I respect that football team as well. Added some weapons and defense is always solid. Ray Rice is gonna be the best running back in the league at the end of the year. That is my prediction if you go by numbers.
As for the Steelers of course they will be winning the division and win the superbowl once again. Surprised??Don't be.....STAY JEALOUS!!

All week long I've been hearing......the best team in football is the Patriots. Check the record is their argument. Let me start out by saying your record doesn't win championships. You may have the best record in the NFL, but more likely than not never win it all. If you go by record because they lose in the playoffs. Last year the Colts had the best record in football, but lost in the Superbowl to the Saints. The year before that the Steelers were 2nd in the AFC according to record and Titans were number 1. Titans didn't make it to the AFC championship....Ravens did.
Should I believe the Patriots are the best team in the NFL even though they are looking at their toughest matchups to date against the Colts and the Steelers. I say they arn't until they beat those teams. I highly doubt they will o...., but we can continue the argument even further. The regular season is where the Pats have been one of the best at. Playoffs have been the question. That is where the money is at. That is when you prove you are the best team. I know some may say they were just the best on that day, but if you don't bring your best in the playoffs really you don't deserve to be called champions.
As of now, I still believe the Steelers are the best team in football. Patriots have a tough road ahead. Playoffs is when it matters. That is when Steelers will prove why they are without question the best team in football as I have been saying all summer long. Don't believe it? I guess you are gonna look ignorant like all the others who said the Steelers would miss the playoffs because the bad start without Ben. We all know how that turned out. Steelers just continue to prove you all wrong. Plz stay off the bandwagon. Believe it or not you heard it hear first. First to six, on a stairway to seven. Surprised??Don't be.......STAY JEALOUS!!

The whole point of this thread is obviously for you to predict some upsets you see that is gonna happen week 1. Since I created this post I guess I'll start us off.
Det wins over Chi-Detroit along with the Chicago Bears were active in free agency, but to me the Bears acquistions of Peppers will be a bust. Of course Cutler is an interception machine and I'm gonna love to see Suh rip apart the line. I think they are the better team right now. I think the draft really helped them be better than the Bears. I see an upset.
I predict Cincy will get the win over New England even though I don't want it to happen. The only strength the Patriots really have in this game is of course the passing game. I figure Benson will have a good game. The key for a Pats win will be the running game, but I don't see it working nor do I see Pats passing game getting through that top secondary in the league. I'm rooting for the Pats, but it will be tough. Defense doesn't look good at all. I say Cincy wins this one unfortunately.
Stl over Ari-It's true!! I chose this in my predicitons. Why not? Don't really know a lot about the Rams besides their offense, but I do know a lot about the Cardinals because they are more talked about this offseason with a lot of things going on. Warner, Boldin, Rolle, Dansby, ect are all gone. Those guys will obviously be missed. Joey Porter acquistion is a bust. He can't replace what the huge role or Dansby and Rolle made on defense. I think the Rams offense will surprise people. Bradford over Anderson. Jackson over any running back. Both defenses are terrible. Obviously the better passing game is Arizona advantage, but they are gonna run the ball more apparently and Fitz could be out for the first game. Either way I see an upset.
Baltimore over Jets-All hype for both teams, but obvious favorite is the Jets. Flacco over Sanchez. Running game goes to the Ravens as an edge. Offensive line is close, but Jets have the edge. WR core is obviously the Ravens. Rush defense in my opinion belong to the Ravens. Secondary of course the Jets. Will you look at that!! It is clear that the Ravens are the better team in my opinion, but with all this media hype I figure that this can be called an upset I guess.
Can the Steelers over the Falcons be an upset too? Nevermind....
Those are my upsets. What are yours?
